Choosing Between Frosted or Clear glass in Your Bathroom

At the end of the day choosing a bathroom door comes down to personal taste, mostly. However, weighing up the pros and cons of each can help sway your personal taste towards something that is going to be functional for you and suit your needs better.

At Budget Shower Screens we have a stunning range of glass shower screens to choose from in frosted and clear. Firstly, let’s discuss the benefits of choosing a glass shower door from us as opposed to staying with a shower curtain.

What’s wrong with shower curtains?

You don’t see too many shower curtains around these days, and for a good reason. Shower curtains are bothersome for a number of reasons. Firstly, if there is any kind of breeze in the bathroom the curtain will continually flap against you as you shower. This might not seem like such a big deal but when it is constant it can become annoying.

Shower curtains always allow more water to escape from the recess than doors do, making for a slippery unsafe floor and a sodden bathmat. Curtains easily grow mould as they are rarely fully stretched out and often moist.

In order to clean them well you have to take them down, soak them and then dry before hanging again. It involves more work than simply cleaning a glass panel that does not need to be removed. So now you’re convinced glass is better, which do you choose, frosted or clear?

Clear glass

Clear glass shower screens offer a very modern feel to the bathroom. With clear glass the bathroom will actually appear bigger because the view is not cut off by a shower screen you can’t see through.

If you are planning on having feature tiles in your shower recess then clear glass is possibly the best choice for you. By having clear glass you will still be able to view the feature tiles whilst standing at the basin.

Whichever tiles you choose for your bathroom, clear glass will allow these to be seen and it will make the room appear lighter and airier.

Frosted glass

Frosted glass can add a whole different vibe to the bathroom. It is great for those who like to feel like they are not overly exposed if other occupants enter the room, and who prefer some privacy.

If you like the shower recess area to visually stand alone then frosted glass is a great choice and won’t show up all the streaks and marks that can appear.

There are more benefits to each. If you would like some helpful advice on which shower screen might best suit you, contact our team at Budget Shower Screens today.
